Welcome! I’m Ash Anthony, LMFT.

If you’ve found your way here, something in you is likely stirring—a quiet, insistent longing to reconnect with yourself more honestly and deeply. Perhaps you are navigating the heavy tides of grief, the exhaustion of burnout, or the disorienting brilliance of a spiritual emergence. In this space, there is no hurry. This is a sanctuary for slowing down to the pace of the body, where the whispered intelligence of the unconscious is finally given room to speak.

I am not a traditional talk therapist. I work from a somatic "bottom-up" approach, rooted in the belief that our stories are etched into our very architecture. Our joys, our struggles, and the lived experiences of our ancestors are within our bones and the intricate rhythms of our nervous systems. My roots stretch through the Nansemond peoples of Virginia, Europe, and Morocco. The stories of my ancestors inform my reverence for intergenerational healing and a deeply felt connection to who came before me. By tending to these ancient patterns, it becomes possible to uncover a profound clarity and truth that has been waiting to be reclaimed.

My work is informed by a decade of clinical practice and a previous life in filmmaking. That creative lens remains the heartbeat of my work; I listen for the unsaid and observe the body’s presentation, trusting that when we become curious about what is happening in the present moment the symbolic language of the psyche will reveal itself. I anchor my therapy practice in somatic and depth work modalities that allow for the usual patterns of the mind to dissolve and leave room for new understanding of the self through guided inner journey work via IFS, Hakomi somatic therapy, somatic dreamwork, EMDR, and active imagination. To deepen this unfolding, I offer legal cannabis-assisted therapy—viewing cannabis as a supportive plant ally to explore the felt sense and inner symbolism of the psyche while supporting embodiment and nervous system repair. I also provide Psychedelic Integration and harm reduction support to help bring grounding and deepening of insights into your day-to-day life. My approach is further informed by my training with MAPS in MDMA-assisted therapy. I look forward to offering this promising therapy as a legal treatment once it receives FDA approval.

To further support the alchemy of mind, body, and spirit, I am completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training and deepening my study of breathwork this year, utilizing the breath as a vehicle to explore expanded states of consciousness. My work is also informed by my ongoing study of Jyotish Vedic Astrology with a seasoned Jyotishi, a lineage that continues to shape how I hold the psychological and celestial maps that guide existence.

Our work together is not a process of fixing what is broken, for you are fundamentally whole. Whatever shape your path takes, may our time together offer a gentle unearthing—a movement toward the center of your own being—the home that has always lived within.
