Welcome! I’m Ash.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and somatic psychotherapist who works with adults navigating trauma, grief, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and spiritual emergence. I believe therapy is not about fixing what is broken, but about creating the conditions for greater awareness, connection, and choice.
I also believe our lived experience is shaped by a living web of relationship — the relationship within us, among our many parts, and the relationship around us, with our families, cultures, and the systems we're born into. We carry these long before we have language for them. This is why I meet whatever you bring with compassion rather than judgment — what feels stuck in you often reflects forces far larger than you, and varying capacities to meet them. Therapy, in this light, becomes a place to gently meet what's beneath the surface and reconnect with the wisdom that's been there all along.
My approach is grounded in the understanding that our experiences live not only in our thoughts, but in our bodies and nervous systems. Together we slow down, cultivate curiosity, and listen to what is unfolding in the present moment. As we deepen your relationship with your inner experience, new perspectives and possibilities naturally begin to emerge.
Over the past decade, I have continued to deepen my practice through advanced training in Hakomi mindfulness-centered somatic psychotherapy (Level II), EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), couples therapy, somatic dreamwork, Jungian active imagination, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. While each modality offers something unique, they united by a common thread: a respect for the body's innate intelligence and the transformative potential of mindful awareness. I integrate these approaches thoughtfully, allowing each person's process to guide our work rather than relying on a single method or protocol.
I also offer legal cannabis-assisted psychotherapy, as well as psychedelic integration and harm reduction support for individuals exploring expanded states of consciousness. My approach is further informed by training with MAPS in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, and I look forward to offering this modality if and when it becomes legally available.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in filmmaking, an experience that continues to shape how I listen. I am drawn not only to what is spoken, but also to gesture, image, silence, and the subtle language of the body. My perspective is also informed by a deep respect for ancestry, contemplative practice, and the interconnected relationship between body, psyche, nature, and spirit.
I strive to offer a therapeutic relationship that is grounded, collaborative, and compassionate. We move at the pace of your nervous system, trusting that lasting change comes through presence rather than force. Whatever brings you here, you are welcome exactly as you are.
A Note About My Practice
I believe that meaningful change begins when we no longer have to hide parts of ourselves. My intention is to offer a space where every part of who you are is welcome and treated with care. While my preferred pronouns are ‘she’, ‘her’ and ‘hers’, I welcome clients of all identities, backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, relationship structures, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I am committed to practicing with humility, curiosity, and respect, and to creating a therapeutic relationship where you can show up authentically and be met with compassion.
Accessibility
My office is ADA accessible, and I am committed to making therapy as accessible as possible. If you have questions about accessibility, accommodations, or whether my practice is a good fit for your needs, I welcome that conversation. Telehealth sessions are also available for clients throughout Washington.
