How to get in

Home entry and security

Front Door Code: 8584

You will hear a click sound when the deadbolt is locked!

See video for reference.

Note: We do not lock the bottom locks on the front or back doors- only the deadbolt.

The back door does not have a code. Please use the front door for entry and exit. Be sure that the back door deadbolt is locked when you leave the house.

Gate Lock & Yard Rules for Pets

The dogs are ok to be in the yard if you are home. Please do not leave them in the yard if you are not home.

When they are chilling in the yard or on the front porch, and you are not watching them, then please lock the gate latch with the carabiner that is sitting on top of the mailbox. It helps deter mail people from opening the gate while the dogs are in the yard.

Backyard gate: If you go to the alley to take out the trash on Monday then please put the ground latch back so no one can enter the backyard from the alley. There is a washer on a string to help you open the gate from the alley side.

Heating & Thermostat

The thermostat is programmed to maintain 66°F during the day and 68°F overnight.

If you’d like to adjust the temperature, simply use the up or down buttons on the thermostat in the living room to temporarily override the schedule.

When leaving the house for an outing or at the end of your stay, please set the temperature to 66°F.

TV & Streaming

The TV has an Amazon Fire Stick with access to Hulu, Amazon Prime, and other streaming apps.

You’re welcome to enjoy any of the available services or sign in to your own accounts.

Please don’t purchase or rent movies, shows, or apps using our accounts. Thank you!

Stereo & Sound System

You’re welcome to enjoy our upstairs sound system!

To play music, download the BluOS app on your phone. Our system is called Sunroom. You’ll need to connect to Wi-Fi and pair via Bluetooth.

Getting Started:

  1. Download the BluOS app and select Sunroom.

  2. Make sure the receiver and amplifier are turned on. These are the black and white boxes located on the shelf in the upstairs living room.

  3. You can connect your Spotify account through the BluOS app to play music.

  4. Adjust the standing speaker volume and overall system volume using the controls on the black and white boxes. You can also adjust the volume from your phone, within the levels set on the equipment.

Guest Room Speaker: There’s a smaller BluOS speaker in the upstairs guest room that you can use independently. You’ll still need the BluOS app to operate it and connect to Spotify.

Outdoor Lighting

The backyard lights are on an automatic timer and turn off around 10 PM.

Steam Shower

You’re welcome to enjoy the steam shower!

  1. Press the power button on the black circular control inside the shower.

  2. Allow approximately 3–7 minutes for the steam to begin.

  3. When you’re finished, press the same power button to turn it off.

  4. Open the shower window and turn on the bathroom fan to allow the steam and moisture to escape.

  5. Please close the window shortly afterward.

Plants

All plants will be watered and cared for before your arrival unless we’ve made other arrangements. No additional care is needed.

Alarm System

We’re not currently using the alarm system, so you can disregard it.

Oven & Kitchen

You’re welcome to use the kitchen and all its appliances!

Oven: We sometimes store baking trays inside the ovens. Please check that the oven you intend to use is empty before preheating it.

SmartHQ App: If you’d like, you can connect to our oven through the SmartHQ app. It’s particularly handy if you’re the kind of person who occasionally wonders whether you left a burner on!

The app can show you whether a burner is on, although it cannot turn it off remotely.

Fire Safety

For the safety of the house and our pets, we have a few requests:

  • Please don’t light candles or other open flames inside the house.

  • Incense is fine as long as it’s placed in a designated incense holder and monitored while burning. Please extinguish it before leaving the room.

  • Please don’t use the fireplace.

Thank you for helping us keep the house safe!

Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman

We’re delighted to share our beautiful white leather Eames lounge chair with you! It’s the real deal, and we hope you enjoy relaxing in it.

Because the leather is delicate, we have a few simple requests to help keep it in beautiful condition.

  • Avoid belts, keys, and metal objects. Please be mindful of anything on your clothing that could scratch, puncture, or otherwise damage the leather.

  • Keep the blankets in place. Please keep a protective blanket on the chair for the pets and the sheepskin blanket on the ottoman. These help protect the leather from their nails.

  • Mind the space between the chair and ottoman. Please make sure they aren’t touching or rubbing against one another, as this can scratch or wear the leather.

  • Please don’t move the chair. It’s carefully positioned to fit perfectly in its space, so we’d appreciate it staying right where it is.

Thank you for helping us take care of this special piece. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Coasters & Furniture Care

There are plenty of drink coasters in the upstairs living room. Please use them when placing drinks on tables to help protect the furniture from moisture and water rings.
